Sebring Florida USDA Approved Lender

One of the most important steps in qualifying for a USDA Rural Development Loan is confirming that the property is located within an eligible area on the USDA Eligibility Map. USDA defines eligible areas based on population and rural development data — so even homes that feel country may not qualify. If you’re shopping near city limits or fast-growing suburbs, don’t assume by ZIP code alone — always verify the exact address.

In Part 4 on our series of USDA Property Eligibility in Florida, I explained the fundamental importance of USDA Property Eligibility Maps. In today’s Part 5 about USDA Property Eligibility, I will walk you through how to search the USDA Property Eligibility Map and locate USDA eligible properties.

In order to determine if a property is eligible, review the following steps:Is This Home USDA Eligible? How to Check the USDA Eligibility Map in Florida (Step-by-Step) #1 USDA Lender in Florida - Metroplex Mortgage Services

  1. Open the USDA Property Eligibility site
    • Choose “Single Family Housing Guaranteed” and click the Property Eligibility tab.
  2. Accept the disclaimer to enter the map.
  3. Enter the full property address in the search bar and click Go.
  4. Read the result
    • The map will zoom to the address and label it Eligible or Ineligible based on the shaded boundary.
  5. Zoom & verify boundaries
    • Use the +/– controls and pan around to confirm you’re inside the eligible shading, especially near border streets, new subdivisions, or mixed-use pockets.
  6. Check nearby options
    • If ineligible, zoom out and explore adjacent eligible areas.
  7. Save a screenshot (optional) for your file or to share with clients.

Florida’s rapid growth means eligibility lines can cut through neighborhoods, making it common to see one side of a road eligible and the other side not. That’s why a quick address check is essential before you write the contract or issue a loan qualification letter. If you are still unsure, send us the address and our team will confirm eligibility and next steps.
